1. Mass and Anointing of the Sick
Please place the following notice in Prince George parish bulletins:
Bishop Jensen will celebrate Mass and Anointing of the Sick for all the city parishes at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 3rd at St. Mary’s Church, Prince George. Everyone is welcome.
The Anointing of the Sick is administered to a Catholic who has reached the age of reason (usually defined as eight years of age), when he or she begins to be in danger by reason of illness or old age or will be having a serious surgery due to a dangerous illness. Elderly people may be anointed if they become noticeably weakened, even though no serious illness is present. The Sacrament may be repeated if a sick person recovers after being anointed and then again falls ill or if during the same illness, the danger becomes more serious. Those to be anointed should prepare for the reception of the Sacrament through a good Confession, whenever possible.

UPCOMING SUMMER EVENTS:
- All young adults age 18-35 are invited to our SUMMER THEOLOGY OF THE BODY study ‘Freedom to Love’ by Christopher West. We will be kicking off this 5-week study on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 pm in the Diocesan Centre Boardroom. This first night will be a potluck, so please bring a dish of your choice. Email youth@pgdiocese.bc.ca for further details. You can still register even if you missed the first session.
- ONE ROCK is a 3-day “vibrant faith-filled Christian festival for young adults and their families. It’s a time where we come together, away from the noise of the world, to make a noise for GOD!” Happening August 15-17, the event is open to all young adults 17+. The diocese will be taking a group to OneRock. If you are interested, please email Eunice Hii at youth@pgdiocese.bc.ca. Check out www.onerock.ca for more details.
- Did you enjoy Ken Yasinski’s message at DYC? Eunice Hii & Fr. Jack will be road-tripping to IGNITE ALBERTA this August 24-29. This is a 1-week Catholic camp run by Ken’s ministry, Facetoface Ministries. Eunice had the privilege of serving as a leader there last summer and it blew her socks off!! Seriously consider sending youth (grades 8-12) from your parish to this camp! You can find out more about IGNITE AB at: http://www.f2f.ca/Ignite/ignite. For more details about joining our PG diocese group, please email youth@pgdiocese.bc.ca!
3. Northern Catholic News
The next edition of the Northern Catholic News will be available for pick up at the Diocesan Centre on Friday, June 13th, 2014. Out of town parishes are asked to please contact the Diocesan Centre at 250-964-4424 or at reception@pgdiocese.bc.ca if someone from your parish is able to pick up your package this Friday or early next week.
