1. Mass in the Park – World Catholic Education Day
Please put the following notice in parish bulletins in the Central Region for the next two weekends:
The three Prince George Catholic Schools will gather at Ft. George Park on Thursday, June 5th, 2014 to mark World Catholic Education Day. The Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. The chief celebrant will be Fr. Pier Pandolfo. We invite all parishioners in Prince George and environs to join us for this wonderful occasion. In the event of inclement weather, the Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
2. Discernment Weekend – Camp Morice
Parishes are requested to post and distribute the attached Discernment Weekend flyers. The following is a message from Fr. Terry Brock, Vocations Director:
On the fourth Sunday of Easter, Good Shepherd Sunday and World Day of Prayer for Vocations, parishes and parishioners were invited to submit names to the Vocation Director. As a follow up to Vocation Sunday, I suggest that the priests and parishioners encourage participation in the Discernment Weekend, June 20-22, 2014 at Camp Morice, Fort St. James. Bishop Jensen and I will facilitate this weekend of discernment. Please highlight this event in your parish bulletin and encourage participation. Thank you.

All parishioners are invited to a special presentation by Bishop Emeritus Gerald Wiesner, OMI on Thursday June 12 at 7:00pm in the old library of the Diocesan Centre. His topic will be the “Joy of the Gospel”. Please register by calling the Domano Renewal Centre.
5. Hymn Books – Saint Mary Magdalene Church, Hagwilget
A very sincere thank you to Christ Our Saviour Parish, Prince George who responded to the call for hymn books. The donated books were delivered to Saint Mary Magdalene Church this week.

7. Monthly Day of Adoration
Please put the following notice in parish bulletins in the Central Region:
Emmanuel Hermitage invites you to a Personal Date with Jesus on June 10 in the Domano Chapel (at the Domano Renewal Centre, 6500 Southridge Ave.). Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a day of silent prayer and adoration. We will pray especially for the people and needs of our Diocese, the universal Church, and the world. In particular we will pray for the protection of all human life, for vocations, and for the intentions of those participating in the day.
8. Search – June 6-8, 2014, Hinton, Alberta
Parishes are asked to place the following notice in bulletins and make the attached registration form available:
A SEARCH weekend is being held in Hinton, Alberta from June 6-8th. SEARCH is a time to experience a supportive gathering of young people who want to learn and experience a closer relationship with God and with others. The SEARCH weekend is open to all youth ages 15-18. Although it is based on the teachings of the Catholic Church, all denominations are welcome and warmly received. Registration is $35 and includes meals and supplies. If you are interested in attending, please contact your parish for registration forms – the deadline for registration is June 1st.
